Legal Services

  1. Providing free legal consultation and legal opinion for women

  2. Providing free judicial assistance for needy women and partial support for women with limited income in Sharia cases in which all reconciliation attempts reached an impasse.

  3. Providing free judicial assistance for needy women in order to litigate in civil cases related to matrimonial relationships such as providing the children's official documents / proving the wife's share in the house.

  4.  Verifying complaints of employment discrimination based on gender at work and access to services.

Terms of obtaining legal consultation

  1. It is provided for Bahraini and foreign women.

  2. Legal consultation is provided in all legal, civil, labor and criminal fields.

  3. It is provided to every woman that requests it regardless of her financial status.

  4. Legal consultation is compulsory before providing judicial assistance.

 

Free judicial assistance

 
  1. It is provided for Bahraini and foreign women with Bahraini children.

  2. Net income should not exceed 350 B.D.

  3. The case must be within the jurisdiction of civil and Sharia courts related matrimonial conflicts (issuance of official documents/ proving contribution to the marital home/ renewal of residency of foreign incubator).

  4. Mandatory of referring divorce requests to the counseling and guidance before referral to judicial assistance.

  5. The submitted request becomes subject of study on legal and legislative levels. It is accepted after verifying its seriousness and credibility of submitted information.

  6. Providing all related documents by the applicant.

  7. The case fees are not included in the judicial assistance; they should be paid by the applicant.

Judicial assistance with partial support:

 

  1. It is provided for Bahraini women and foreign women with Bahraini children.

  2. It is provided to those with limited income (between 350- 700 B.D).

  3. The case must be within the jurisdiction of Sharia courts.

  4. Referring divorce requests to counseling and guidance is mandatory before referral to judicial assistance.

  5. The submitted request becomes subject of study on legal and legislative levels. It is accepted after verifying its seriousness and credibility of submitted information.

  6. Providing all related documents by the applicant.

  7. The case fees are not included in the judicial assistance; they should be paid by the applicant.

 

Required documents for each application:

 

  1. Initial Application Form.

  2. Copy of Identity Cards.

  3. Copy of passports.

  4. Copy of Birth Certificates.

  5. Copy of Marriage Certificate. (If any)

  6. Copy of Divorce Certificate. (If any)

  7. Copy of Death Certificate. (If any)

  8. Copy of Abandonment Certificate (If any).

  9. Copy of Lease Contract. (If any)

  10. Copy of sources of income.

  11. Copy of Application number submitted to the concerned parties (If any).

  12. Certificate of recent loan. (If any)

  13. Any other documents related to the application.

 

Receiving the application for judicial assistance does not mean acceptance of providing it and referring the application to one of the law firms contracted with the Supreme Council For Women.
