Cooperation Committee between the Supreme Council for Women and Women Societies and Committees
Foundations:

In activation of what has
been agreed on during the cooperation meeting held by Her Royal Highness
Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King of
Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women on Sunday March 5th
2006 at Al-Rawdha Palace with women societies and women committees at the civil
society institutions, the Supreme Council for Women held a meeting with women
societies, women committees and boards of Islamic women societies on June 12th
2007 and agreed to establish a committee called “The Cooperation Committee
between the Supreme Council for Women and Women Societies and Committees.” In
accordance, decision No. 1 for the year 2007 was issued to establish the
Committee by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife
of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women.
The Goals of the Committee:
1. Activating the role of women societies, boards of Islamic women societies and women committees of civil society institutions.
2. Transferring
the needs of Bahraini women to official bodies through the Supreme
Council for Women in order to resolve any issues and overcome any
obstacles facing women and list these needs in the Committee's action
plan.
The Specialties
of the Committee:
1. Monitor the present status of women-oriented
programs and projects and check its compatibility with their needs and the
National Plan to implement the Strategy of Advancement of Women which was
adopted by the Supreme Council for Women.
2. Propose an annual action plan for the
Committee in line with its specialties, suggest fields and proper methods
to cooperate with other civil society institutions in order to provide the
necessary support for the advancement of Bahraini women and reinforce its
role in public life.
3. Exchange expertise and achieve optimal
benefit from resources provided by international and regional
organizations which would serve the implementation of adopted programs of
the annual plan.
4. Conduct necessary studies to evaluate
women-oriented programs and projects (Feasibility Studies).
5. Set
programs and projects to implement the Committee’s action plan in line
with its specialties and propose training workshops and seminars in
addition to media campaigns.
