SCW Secretary General holds virtual meeting with French ambassador

Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al Ansari, has stressed readiness of SCW, under the presidency of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King, to export its experience in the field of equal opportunities and gender balance. She pointed out that the kingdom’s advanced experience in this respect gives it an international dimension and qualifies it to enter into reciprocal and equal partnership with advanced countries and international institutions in the field of gender balance.

Al Ansari was speaking at a virtual meeting with French Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Jerome Cauchard. She affirmed the kingdom’s readiness, through SCW, to take part in the “Generation of Equality” forum which will be organised by the United Nations and France in June. She pointed out the importance of the forum in promoting the principle of equal opportunities and gender balance across the world. She voiced the council’s readiness to enrich the discussions with Bahrain’s distinguished international experience in this regard.

The SCW Secretary General praised the French ambassador’s active efforts to bolster bilateral relations, mainly in the economic, scientific and cultural fields. She voiced the council’s pride in cooperation with the Republic of France regarding women-related issues.

The French ambassador listened during the meeting to a presentation on SCW’s initiatives and programmes within the framework of the terms of reference stipulated in the Decree of its foundation. He was also informed about Bahrain’s national empowerment strategy which is being upgrade continuously.

The French ambassador expressed appreciation of the kingdom’s experience in women empowerment through SCW, presided by HRH Princess Sabeeka, Wife of HM the King. He commended Bahrain’s remarkable presence on the international scene, with regard to women’s issues, stressing keenness on more cooperation in this respect.
