The nomination deadline for Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa for of Bahraini Women’s Advancement has been extended to September 15, the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has announced.

The move follows the growing number of participants from public and private sector institutions and civil society, as well as by individuals with recognised contributions in the field of women’s empowerment, adopting their issues and integrating their needs in national affairs.

On the occasion, SCW Secretary-General, and the award committee chairperson, Hala Al-Ansari, said that the deadline has been extended for two weeks as a result of the growing number of institutions wishing to highlight the outcomes of their plans and policies to increase women’s participation and address gender balance gaps, noting that the award laureates will be announced during the kingdom’s celebrations of the Bahraini Women’s Day 2022.

Al-Ansari indicated that the award’s importance is growing, given the remarkable success of the previous editions, adding that it has contributed to highlighting inspiring success stories in the field of women’s advancement, reflecting the distinction of Bahrain’s experience in the field of women.

The award aims to recognise the efforts of public and private institutions, civil society organisations and individuals in enhancing Bahraini women’s advancement.
