Supreme Council for Women hails Executive Committee’s decision

The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) lauded the decision allowing husbands whose wives take part in combating COVID-19 to work from home.

The measure was announced by the Executive Committee, chaired by  His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

SCW Secretary-General Hala Al-Ansari hailed the flexible procedure which aims at maintaining families’ social and economic stability, recognizes wives’ role in assuming vital duties to maintain the health and security of citizens and residents.

She praised the measures undertaken by HRH the Crown Prince as well as his follow-up of the National Taskforce form Combating COVID-19.

“The new measure came in response to the SCW recommendation, taking into account the needs of Bahraini women who in the front-line during these exceptional circumstances”, she said.

She described the humane move as a token of gratitude and support to Bahraini working women who are battling in the front-line to combat the pandemic. 

She said that the joint committee set up by the council and the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) would follow up the implementation of the edict at ministries and government departments and public enterprises.
