HM King receives SCW President, members


His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Sakhir Palace today Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), who introduced to him members of SCW in its seventh work session.

HM the King lauded the remarkable achievements of Bahraini women, praising the honourable march of pioneers of national work who contributed to the growth of their nation and the upbringing of successive generations.

HM the King commended the confident and fast-paced strides made by Bahraini women, stressing the influential role of SCW in supporting them since its establishment. He also stressed the clear vision of the council in assuming its specialties based on national values, the constitutional principles and a strong conviction that Bahraini women are an essential partner in building the Bahraini state and protecting its national texture.

HM the King emphasised the key role of Bahraini women in national development, bringing up future generations and caring for their families. He affirmed support to them, commending their capabilities and competence which earned them an advanced status. He also praised contribution of SCW members to enhancing women’s role in the Bahraini society. He also hailed the tremendous efforts of HRH Princess Sabeeka in continuously improving the council’s performance and highlighting the great progress of Bahraini women, the kingdom’s civilised experience in this respect and the effect of those accomplishments on Bahrain’s comprehensive development march.

HM the King congratulated the SCW members, wishing them success in ensuring more progress to Bahraini women after proving their capability to take part actively in social development and nation-building.

HRH Princess Sabeeka expressed heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HM the King for his unflinching support to Bahraini women, stressing that his confidence in their capabilities has contributed to maximizing opportunities for them and boosting their role in the development march and consolidating the kingdom’s standing at the regional and international level.

HRH Princess Sabeeka praised the royal support to SCW, pointing out the council’s success in bringing about many achievements and handling many issues pertaining mainly to family stability which is considered as a top priority. She also stressed the positive results achieved by Bahraini women in the economic field, pointing out their growing presence in the public sector and in taking up executive and supervisory posts. She also asserted their contribution to the private sector by diversifying investments in the free business market.

HRH Princess Sabeeka emphasised the great care given by the international community to the kingdom’s experience, pointing out keenness on promoting it and benefiting from some of its initiatives.

At the end of the meeting, HRH Princess Sabeeka presented a book on the Bahraini women’s march, which was issued by SCW in line with the directives of HM the King to document their contribution to the educational field. The book will serve as a supplementary material to be taught in primary education.

HRH Princess Sabeeka also presented a documental report on the main activities of SCW in its sixth session.
