Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al-Ansari, received here today Tourism Minister, Fatima bint Jaffar Al-Sairafi.

Al-Ansari congratulated Al-Sairafi on the precious royal trust bestowed upon her by appointing her to her post, noting that her appointment proves that Bahraini women youth competencies deserve to hold high-level national responsibilities so as to enrich the kingdom’s progress march.

Al-Ansari and Al-Sairafi discussed areas of joint cooperation to invest in the opportunities offered for Bahraini women in the tourism sector, in accordance with the kingdom’s 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy, particularly regarding ways to increase procedures and incentives that enable women to hold quality posts in such a promising sector.

She lauded the keenness of the 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy to increase Bahraini women’s presence, affirming the SCW’s readiness to provide the necessary consultations to launch initiatives that motivate tourism facilities to ensure equal opportunities and gender balance in both employment and professional development.

Minister Al-Sairafi praised the keenness of the SCW, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King, to support and empower Bahraini women in an atmosphere that takes into account women’s needs and gender balance.

She highlighted her keenness to support national competencies working in the tourism sector, as well as encourage its facilities to create the appropriate environment to attract more Bahraini male and female staff and ensure the sustainability of their professional and career development to reach leadership positions in the sector.
