SCW, Social Development Ministry discuss future cooperation plan

Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al-Ansari, received here today Social Development Minister, Osama bin Ahmed Al-Asfoor.


The two sides discussed topics pertaining to family and social stability, as well as areas of future cooperation regarding social welfare services and programmes related to the economic empowerment of productive families and women benefiting from social assistance.


Al-Ansari commended the Social Development Ministry's efforts in providing the appropriate environment for the development of family counseling services.


They also agreed on the importance of activating the Equal Opportunities Committee at the Social Development Ministry to maintain the Bahraini women's gains in the work environment and ensure equal opportunities regarding the services delivered to Bahraini women and families.


Al-Asfoor affirmed the Social Development Ministry's keenness to enhance its cooperation with the SCW to achieve joint goals, ensure the continuity of Bahraini women's advancement and pave the way for them to carry on playing their pivotal role in the national development process.


He added that the Ministry also aims to consolidate family stability in the kingdom, in light of the care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in addition to the unlimited support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and SCW President, for empowering Bahraini women and providing them with opportunities to fully participate in the national development process.
