Ongoing Projects


Project of Training and Rehabilitation of the Visually Impaired:

The Supreme Council for Women, in cooperation with the University of Bahrain and Friendship Society for the Blind, aims through this project to teach visually impaired females to use computers to enable them to perform assigned tasks in jobs that require efficient use of computer in addition to using Microsoft Office tools to perform daily operations in addition to train them as trainers in order to ensure the sustainability of the project.


Transportation Project "Tawseel:"

The Supreme Council for Women implemented Transportation Project "Tawseel" with the aim of training a batch of women to become mass transport drivers and encourage them to create their own transport companies and institutions to lower the unemployment rate.

The project is implemented in cooperation with Tamkeen, the General Directorate of Traffic and Licensing of the Interior Ministry, Creativty Bank and the Ministry of Labor.

The project also aims to empower women to manage small and medium enterprises and merge them in the national economy in addition to contribute in solving the job seeking issue and provide economic stability.

The project targets unemployed Bahraini women who have driving license and experience not less than five years and who are willing to work as minibuses drivers.

Training of 80 beneficiaries on 4 batches has completed with 20 beneficiaries provided with buses on March 2012 and other 20 on April 2014.
