Bahraini Women in the Diplomatic field 2020


The Supreme Council for Women (SCW), chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of His Majesty the King, approved the theme of Bahraini women's day for next year 2020 which will celebrate women in "diplomatic work" during the Council's concluding meeting for its sixth session.



On 29th January 2020, the Wife of His Majesty the King received Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, in the presence of a number of Bahraini women diplomats on the occasion of the Council's approval of the theme of Bahraini women's day 2020 which is consecrated to celebrate women in "diplomatic work". This takes place in conjunction with the Kingdom's celebration of the 51st anniversary of its formal diplomacy and allocating a day for Bahrain's Diplomacy in appreciation to its achievements and its affiliates' efforts. 

During the meeting, the President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) affirmed that due to the unlimited royal support provided to Bahraini women, they had attained different leading, diplomatic and decision-making posts, and that had opened wide aspects to perform their role as men's partner in building the aspired modern Bahrain by everyone. 



The Wife of His Majesty the King praised the growing presence of Bahraini women in the diplomatic field, pointing out the appointment of the first woman as Foreign Ministry Undersecretary at the Arab level. She also underlined the key role played by Bahrain's embassies and its diplomatic missions abroad in casting light on the national women empowerment's efforts which has a direct effect on Bahrain's international status.
