Women's Support Center

The organizational structure of the Women's Support Center consists of a director, heads of departments, and a sufficient number of social, psychological, and legal specialists with experience in  women and family issues.

The Women's Support Center in the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Women is affiliated with the General Directorate for Planning and Evaluation and is concerned with providing the following consultations and services:

  • Receiving requests pertaining to women's affairs and urgent issues, studying and analyzing them, and proposing ways to address them.
  • Providing family counseling on social, psychological, legal, and economic aspects of situations where support is needed, in cooperation with relevant experts and specialists.
  • Providing judicial assistance in family disputes, and civil disputes resulting, or arising, from family disputes, to Bahraini women or those who have custody of Bahraini children who are of limited income.
  • Coordinating with the relevant authorities to follow-up on the requests received, in accordance with the procedures followed by the Supreme Council for Women.
  • Monitoring, examining, and providing legal consultation on complaints of gender-based occupational discrimination at work, and following up with the Legal Affairs Section, the Gender Balance Center and the Women Information Center.
  • Proposing amendments, or introducing new legislations, decisions, or regulations based on the monitoring of requests and problems in cases submitted to the Center.
  • Participating in the implementation and proposal of studies and research on women in the family field, in coordination with the Women's Information Center.
  • Supplying the databases of the Supreme Council for Women with all types of requests received by the Center.
  • Raising family awareness on how to deal with and manage family problems and adopting correct ideas on the rights and duties of spouses through lectures, courses, awareness messages, and guides.
Communications Department

Communications Department

responsible for monitoring all requests received by the Women’s Support Center, communicating directly with the public through the available channels, and referring requests to the concerned departments of the Center according to their competence.

Services Guidance and follow-up Department

Services Guidance and follow-up Department

is responsible for contributing to resolving family conflicts and negative manifestations facing family members in order to achieve family stability, and reduce divorces through reconciliation and provision of amicable settlements and friendly divorce service.

is responsible for contributing to resolving family conflicts and negative manifestations facing family members in order to achieve family stability, and reduce divorces through reconciliation.

Legal advisory department

Legal advisory department

is responsible for providing legal advice, offering judicial assistance in family disputes and civil disputes resulting, or arising, from family disputes, receiving professional complaints and providing advice and guidance on them, following up on citizenship applications for the children of Bahraini women, in addition to applications for residency and sponsorship for children.
