The Gender Balance Center is responsible for supervising the implementation of the initiatives of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women concerning gender balance and mainstreaming women’s needs. The Center is also concerned with executing the National Gender Balance Model that links the Supreme Council for Women to official and governmental institutions, legislative authorities, private sector institutions, and civil society organizations to follow up on its implementation.This is accomplished through direct communication to continuously monitor and evaluate the commitment of all state institutions to achieving the principles of equal opportunities in public life.
The Gender Balance Center’s specializations include:
- Monitoring mainstreaming women's needs into national legislations and proposing policies
- Contributing to the development of initiatives, programmes and supporting action plans and proposing policies.
- Monitoring national programmes and initiatives to mainstream the needs of women through applying mechanisms and principles of equal opportunities to achieve gender balance in inclusive national development and public life.
- Supporting work-life balance programs and initiatives for Bahraini women working in various sectors.
- Following up on the application of successful practices to mainstream women's needs and equal opportunities as an internal model in the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Women, including expressing an opinion on regulations, applying support services that achieve family stability, and following up on the activation of budgets responsive to women's needs.
- Knowledge management through cooperating in organizing awareness meetings and workshops with the relevant authorities.
- Collaborating with other centers to overcome challenges and invest in opportunities for the improvement of policies, programs, initiatives, and action plans related to achieving gender balance.

Equal Opportunities in the Public sector department
is responsible for the follow-up on the implementation of the National Gender Balance Model in the public sector and monitoring the implementation of the initiatives and programs of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women in government ministries and institutions. The section also organizes and activates initiatives and awards supporting the empowerment and advancement of women and monitors outstanding practices in supporting and integrating women's needs in the public sector. The department is also concerned with monitoring and dealing with cases of discrimination in ministries and government institutions.

Equal Opportunities in the Private sector department
aims to raise awareness and influence the convictions/ views of decision-makers and workers in the sector, and promotes the principle of equal opportunities and positive practices to ensure the sustainability of gender balance and equal opportunities approaches and the dissemination of success stories. It also aims to identify the status of women and the challenges they face within the working environment in the private sector and develop mechanisms and solutions to improve their condition. In this context, many initiatives have been implemented to promote the adoption by private sector institutions of the concepts and mechanisms of the national model and equal opportunities.

Equal Opportunities in the Legislative authority and civil society institutions department
is responsible for the follow-up with the legislature and civil society institutions by activating the mechanisms of the National Gender Balance Model, the national plan, national strategies, and the programs and projects emanating from them in cooperation with partners in these sectors.
