Dr. Maha Al Shehab wins Arab Woman Excellence Award 2025 for Community Development

The Arab Women Committee of the League of Arab States has announced that Dr. Maha Saleh Hussain Al Shehab, former member of the Board of Trustees at the Bahrain Institute for Political Development, has won the Arab Woman Excellence Award 2025 in its fifth edition, in the field of community development.
The selection was made by the award’s judging panel, following her nomination by the Supreme Council for Women in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The award aims to highlight the contributions of Arab women in community development, and to encourage public and private institutions to support and empower women leaders by showcasing their achievements and success stories.
It also seeks to promote women’s participation in the workforce, expand opportunities for training and qualification through various initiatives, and inspire young women to innovate and contribute to national development.
The Arab Woman Excellence Award is presented annually by the League of Arab States to distinguished Arab women across various fields, based on nominations by member states.
The award recognises outstanding achievements in areas such as science, educational management, arts, literature, journalism, media, and sports, in line with technical criteria assessed by a panel of experts.
