The meeting discussed efforts to promote voluntary work among young people, emphasising its national and humanitarian importance.

The meeting highlighted the award’s objective to empower youth, both individually and collectively, to achieve sustainability and innovation in voluntary work projects.

It also seeks to foster healthy competition among young individuals and showcase outstanding youth initiatives that contribute to community service.

The meeting also introduced the award’s categories, which include Best Achievement in Individual Voluntary Work and Best Achievement in Group Voluntary Work.

The committee reviewed the award's mandate as established by Royal Order (15) of 2011, which includes approving the conditions, criteria, and procedures for the award, evaluating the nominated projects, and endorsing and announcing the final decisions.

The meeting discussed the established criteria for the award, which is granted every two years. Eligibility is limited to Bahraini youth aged 18 to 35, with participating projects required to operate under a legal framework associated with either civil society organisations or state institutions.

The committee emphasised the importance of conducting field visits to evaluate the submitted projects and, when necessary, holding personal interviews with applicants.

The committee also reviewed proposals from the General Secretariat regarding the preliminary application form, qualification criteria, and the timeline for the fourth session (2024-2026), leading up to the award ceremony.

The committee is chaired by HH Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairperson of INJAZ Bahrain and member of SCW. Its members include Abdulkarim Abdulhameed Al Meer, Director of Events and Programmes at the Ministry of Youth Affairs; Amina Ibrahim Al Jassim, Acting Director of the NGOs Directorate at the Ministry of Social Development; Dr. Israa Ahmed Wali, Head of the Information Systems Department, Acting Director of the Business Incubator Centre, and Coordinator of the INJAZ Bahrain Programme at the University of Bahrain; and Ameera Mahmoud Mohammed, Member of the Advisory Board at the Youth Pioneer Society.
