HRH Princess Sabeeka chairs second meeting of 8th SCW session

Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), today chaired the second meeting of the eighth session of the SCW, held at the council's premises in Riffa.

Her Royal Highness said that the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his confidence in the capabilities of Bahraini women has created a solid foundation for increasing the momentum of their progress in all disciplines.

 

HRH Princess Sabeeka said the royal support has been pivotal for the development of the plans, programmes and initiatives of the SCW, and has driven its efforts to accelerate performance and consolidate partnerships.

 

Her Royal Highness emphasised the importance of the efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in sustaining the gains of Bahraini women and encouraging their contributions in national development. The SCW President valued the support of the government for the work of the council by integrating the needs of women in government plans and enabling women to attain a distinguished status.

 

Furthermore, HRH Princess Sabeeka thanked all official entities for their support, which reflected positively on the status of Bahraini women, that remains a top ranking national priority.

 

Her Royal Highness highlighted the efforts of national competencies that work as one team to consolidate the progress of women in the kingdom, so they perform their role as a key player and partner in development and building the nation's future.

 

HRH noted that the SCW's work has contributed to driving the deliverables for Bahraini women, who have become an exemplary model of success.

 

Her Royal Highness thanked all the members of the SCW for their contributions to the work of the SCW, and valued their continued dedication to presenting constructive ideas and proposals that reflect on the progress of Bahraini women.

 

During the meeting, Her Royal Highness Wife of His Majesty the King and SCW President was briefed on the priorities of the council for 2024 and the drafting of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2025-2026).

 

The council was also informed on the updates of signing a memorandum of understanding between the SCW and the Gender Balance Centre of the Institute of Public Administration regarding administrative development, and the updates on the draft of the strategy of joint action for women affairs in the GCC.
