SCW affirms importance of educational collaboration

The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) received a delegation made up of students from the University of Oxford, King's College London, and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, member of SCW, said that such visits facilitate the strengthening of collaboration between SCW and prestigious international educational institutions, as well as exchanging experiences and best practices in the field of women's empowerment.
HH Shaikha Hessa affirmed the importance of this visit in showcasing the progress Bahraini women have achieved in various sectors, including political participation through democratic institutions such as the Council of Representatives, Shura Council, and municipal councils.
She emphasised that SCW’s initiatives and programmes provide a valuable source of information and resources for young diplomats to study and research. SCW’s library and various resources, such as its website, can be utilised for studies or research to enrich their academic, professional and scientific careers.
Shaikha Deena bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Assistant Secretary-General of the SCW, presented the SCW's establishment, objectives, development, and outcomes within the national plan.
She noted that Bahrain was the first country to provide compulsory education for girls since 1928, which resulted in generations of Bahraini women leading in a variety of fields such as nursing, health, engineering and so on until they started to get involved in futuristic scientific fields.
