Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), said the election of three female journalists to the board of the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) for the 2025–2027 term reflects the growing role of Bahraini women in the media and highlights their progress in leadership positions. She noted this achievement reflects national efforts to empower women and ensure their active participation across sectors.
She added that the result shows the strong confidence placed in Bahraini women’s abilities, pointing out that female journalists are not only participating in the media field but also contributing to decision-making and shaping future directions.
Al Awadhi congratulated Isa Al Shaiji on his re-election as Chairman of the BJA, emphasising the Council’s commitment to continued cooperation with media institutions and associations to support development, promote the Kingdom of Bahrain’s achievements in women’s advancement, and consolidate gender balance and women’s empowerment.
