Under the patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Women Health Summit to be held

Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) the Royal Medical Services will organise the Women Health Summit in collaboration with SCW will be held from 4-5 December coinciding with Bahraini Women's Day 2023.

The summit is organised by various partners including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, the Government Hospitals Administration, healthcare centres, the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), and Bahrain Medical Society, the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) and Bahrain Medical Society.

 

The Women Health Summit brings together various stakeholders to discuss and promote women's health, well-being, and quality of life. It encourages knowledge exchange, highlights progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals, and advocates for a collaborative approach to improved women's health.

 

The summit discussed women's leadership roles in healthcare, labour laws impacting their participation, domestic violence, heart disease treatment, cancer treatments, bone disease treatment, obesity prevention, and nutrition and physical activity's role in women's health, particularly girls, and the readiness of the health system to address these issues.
