SCW Secretary General chairs first Cooperation Committee meeting
The first meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the Supreme Council for Women and women’s associations and committees, chaired by Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of SCW.
Al Awadhi conveyed the greetings of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of HM the King and President of the SCW, and underscored the committee’s key role in strengthening national collaboration to support women’s issues and advance initiatives under the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2025–2026).
The meeting reviewed the committee’s formation and objectives, which include activating the role of women’s civil society organisations, communicating Bahraini women’s needs, and coordinating with the Council to address challenges facing women.
Participants also discussed the committee’s mechanisms, priority initiatives, especially in family stability and quality of life, and ways to enhance partnerships with civil society.
The meeting concluded with agreement to set upcoming priorities aligned with the national plan and to submit proposals for awareness programmes, while marking the upcoming Silver Jubilee of the Supreme Council for Women and Bahraini Women’s Day 2026.
