SCW Secretary General meets Bahrain Bar Society members

Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), held a meeting with members of the Bahrain Bar Society.

The meeting reviewed the society’s efforts, key plans, and programmes aimed at enhancing the status of Bahraini women in the legal profession.

They also discussed future proposals by the society to strengthen women's roles in law.

Al Awadhi commended the society's voluntary initiative to form a Women’s Needs Integration Committee to implement the National Gender Balance Model.

She also highlighted society’s participation in the seventh edition of the Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Women’s Advancement.

On their part, representatives from the society presented their achievements, including a memorandum of understanding with the Bahrain Young Ladies Association to support women and family-related issues, and the ongoing collaboration with the Bahrain Women’s Union in areas such as the marriage contract document.

Al Awadhi underscored the SCW’s commitment to collaborating with civil society organisations and encouraging the establishment of committees to integrate women's needs.
