SCW, Social Development Ministry to open support offices for women across Bahrain

The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has announced the opening of support offices for Bahraini women in social development centers across all four governorates of Bahrain. This initiative aims to enhance access to SCW's support services in line with the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and SCW President.
Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, SCW Secretary General, noted that the decision was approved during SCW's fourth meeting, with four offices to be established in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development.
She said that these offices will be staffed by qualified personnel from SCW’s General Secretariat, specialising in family counseling and legal assistance.
These offices will be based in social development centers and will work in coordination with ministry services and other government institutions to provide comprehensive support, Al Awadhi added.
She noted that since 2004, SCW has operated dedicated offices serving as a contact point between Bahraini women and the council for receiving and addressing complaints.
She added that the new offices will expand this service, making it easier for women to access support, address challenges, and receive assistance in overcoming barriers to government services.
Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, commended SCW’s longstanding efforts, led by HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim, to advance women’s empowerment and safeguard their achievements.
He emphasised the ministry’s commitment to continued cooperation with SCW to enhance services that align with national efforts to support Bahraini women.
