SCW opens registration for eighth cycle of HRH Princess Sabeeka Award for Advancement of Bahraini Women
The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) announced the opening of registrations for the 8th cycle of the HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for the Advancement of the Bahraini Woman (2024 – 2026).
SCW, UAE Women’s Union renew MoU on women’s advancement
Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), met with Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the General Women’s Union of the United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly high level meeting marking the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing+30) at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
SCW Secretary General highlights HRH Princess Sabeeka Global Award at UN Event
Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), led a side event organised by the Kingdom of Bahrain, in cooperation with UN Women, to promote the third edition of the HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment. The event was held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly at UN Women headquarters in New York, marking the launch of applications for participation.

SCW opens Women's Support Office at Mubarak Kanoo Social Centre
The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) inaugurated a Women’s Support Office at the Mubarak Kanoo Comprehensive Social Centre in Sanabis, in the presence of Osama Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, and Lulwa Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the SCW. The initiative is part of the Council’s plan to establish support offices in social development centres across all four governorates of Bahrain, enhancing services for Bahraini women in line with the Council’s mandate.
HH Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Award for Voluntary Youth Work opens fourth edition
The Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Youth Work continues as a national initiative recognising outstanding youth-led volunteer projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain, promoting social responsibility and community service in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).

Established by Decree (5) of 2004, the award bears the name of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW, in recognition of Her Royal Highness's commitment to supporting national efforts to enhance the status and progress of Bahraini women.

The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) announced the launch of the fourth edition of the Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Youth Work. The award was established under Royal Order (15) of 2011 in honour of the late Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa’s contributions to charitable, voluntary, and social work.
